You spoke, we listened. Developed from CatEye customer feedback, the Padrone features the largest display available on the market today. From the downhill mountain biker to the farsighted cyclists, the Padrone is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy a squint-free ride and a fast, simple set-up. Battery life up to a year. Weighs 31g.
ALL YOUR FAVORITE STATS: Displays current, max, and average speed, total distance, trip distance, elapsed time, and clock.
SAVE YOUR MILES: With the option to manually set the odometer, you don't have to start over every time you change the battery.
FOCUS ON THE RIDE, NOT THE SCREEN: Don't let navigating menus or buttons get in the way of enjoying your ride. Simply press the base of the unit to toggle through functions.
SECURE AND GO: With our FlexTight Bracket, you can easily mount, adjust, and move your computer by hand. Spend less time setting up your gear and more time on the road.
DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STOPS: Caught at a red light? Stopping for coffee? We've got you covered. Your CatEye computer knows when you've stopped and automatically stops counting time and averaging speed.
After MANY years of reliable service my old Cateye bit the dust so I bought this new wireless one. The display is larger, it's easier to use, and it's nice not to have that wire connectthe sensor to the computer. I couldn't get it to work at first because the picture-only instructions didn't mention that the sensor needs to be within 5 mm of the magnet. My advice would be to use the online instructions when you set it up.This is my second one. This product works well for my use. Display is large enough and features are only the one's essential to me. Great for the money. Its also accurate. I use it for my mtb rides. I highly recommend it.For me, this is a MUST-HAVE ITEM. Perfect for keeping track of miles, speed, avg speed, total distance and. It takes a few minutes to mount it properly, and it's worth it. I don't think there's anything better on the market.I've owned a lot of bikes (and a lot of computers) over the years, and this is easily the best computer yet. It was dead simple to install and set up, and the odometer is 100% accurate. I have two of these, one for my bike and one for my wife's. I ordered the optional OF-100 mounting bracket, which puts the computer above the handlebars, making it easier to read.As a happy coincidence, the orange color exactly matches the paint on my bike. I can recommend this with no reservations. My only (slight) complaint is that the mounting bracket is a little pricey at $15.Like some some other users, I found the setup a bit challenging. All the instructions are pictures only but fairly intuitive once you get the hang of it. To set up the computer, basically you long-press the mode button to select what you want to adjust and then short-press the same button to confirm. It took me several tries to get it all right. There is a handy table in the instructions showing the numerical setting for various tire sizes. Mine was listed and I would guess many other common sizes are as well.Fixing the equipment to the bike presented different challenges. I bought the separate Cat Eye Out Front Bracket, which installs very easily. The computer slides into this easily with a snap when it is fully in place. The bracket holds the device very firmly, which is important considering the vibration and bumps of biking but also makes it a bit difficult to remove. I found the best way was to stand in front of the bike, facing backward, and pulling it out.Mounting the sensor and magnet is the trickiest of all. Be sure to mount the sensor right side up - otherwise it will face forward and likely move with wind resistance. I made this mistake so that I needed to get additional zip ties, which can be ordered from Cat Eye. I found compatible (2mm) zip ties at Lowes.Positioning the sensor and magnet took me several attempts before I got it right. The instructions would have you put the sensor high on the fork. However, if you do that it will be further from the magnet because the spokes bend inward on the tire. This distance has to be quite close. If you position the sensor further down, close to the center of the tire, it will be closer to the magnet; however, it will be further from the Cat Eye computer. This distance cannot exceed 27 inches. There is a sweet spot around the center of the tire which does work. However, as others have pointed out, it is often necessary to swivel the sensor at an angle inward, to get close enough to the magnet. Unfortunately, the instructions do not say this and the picture doesn't show it clearly. I ended up positioning the sensor and magnet a bit more than halfway down the tire, about 25 inches below the computer. It is important not to completely tighten the zip ties until you are absolutely sure everything is functioning properly.Once it is mounted and set up, the Cat Eye Padrone works very well. Although the display looks rather small, the numbers are easily visible, including with sunglasses. Using MPH, the speed is shown in tenths of a mile and the distance traveled in hundredths of a mile. The distance measured matched my GPS precisely. Other reviewers have reported problems with interference from strobe lights. I use them back and front and experienced no interference at all. If the brand makes a difference, mine are from Ascher. I ride an Electra Townie ebike which proved completely compatible with the Cat Eye.computer works great. i would have given 5 stars, but instructions are very vagueI've installed this on a recumbent trike and it appears to be working very well.Just what I needed. I am not a fancy bluetooth computer kind of guy. distance time and speed are the main functions I use. I have been using the specialized speed zone for many years with few complaints. But they do not make those anymore.I purchased a giant brand computer and it was not great. The screen was way too small to see. Functions were not easy to skip through. So I tried this Cateye Padrone. Great computer. Easy to read. Great functions. The button to switch between functions was better than other computers. Very pleased.Because you can't really see the colour I wasnt overly worried about white. It works great, is easy to use and typically reliable cateye xxI am very disappointed in this cycling computer. I bought it for a 4000 km cycling tour in remote parts of northern Canada, and use it track my overall distance cycled and daily trip data (including distance, average speed, max speed, and cycling time) for each day.Unfortunately, the trip data randomly resets during the day. I cannot figure out why. This makes the product completely unreliable and I cannot recommend it at all.I have had $30 Canadian Tire products work 100% reliably on cycling trips spanning several months and over 7000 km. Cateye’s product worth $80 started randomly resetting trip metrics after just couple of hundred kilometres.(Note that the odometer, clock, and tire size details do not reset, thankfully. It’s just the trip data.)I would love a refund for this product so I can buy something more reliable when I return home from my trip. After reading a few of the comments on installation, I was able to install one on my bike and my wife's bike. I was able to set them up for the tire size with studying the pics for a while. The seem to work great, I haven't experienced any issues that some have. We have only put about 40 k on since the installation. The mounting of the unit into the holder could be improved. it slides in, but you really need to push to get it to lock in, and again you need to push with a fair effort to get it out. I need to hold the mounting bracket or it will turn. I expect that this may be a wear item. At home we can leave the units in the holder, but on vacation we need to remove them every time we lock up the bikes.Product states 'auto start' and the feature is described as - when the computer detects movement, the sleep screen closes and the measurement screen appears. NOPE - it doesn't!! Tried 2 different computers with exactly the same results. I worked with a fantastic tech support rep who still insist the product has this feature yet it was unable to perform it. I took the sensor and the magnet off of the fork and wheel and placed them under the computer <6" away on both computers, from sleep mode, the computers do not move from sleep mode to measurement mode. Interestingly, if I press the mode button in motion, when the measurement screen appears, the speed is immediately showing current speed which indicates to me that the computers 'see' the sensor and receive the signal as the magnet passes by, the computers are simply NOT programmed to automatically flip to measurement mode. Disappoint as the computer iiself is very user friendly, easy to read at glance, simple set up, solid mounts and has up to a 5mm gap between wheel and magnet. Love it but want an automatic wake up. I forget to manually wake it up occasionally so my total mileage in a day / week / month, is inaccurate and forces me to guess at total distance traveled. if this feature is important to you, this is NOT the product for you.Very easy to install and set up. Even easier to use.I love the simplicity of it all. Great purchase.
