4/20/23 - Another quick update. Haven't lost them yet, still working great. I now have to remember to plug them in every day, or they'll be dead part way through day 2. I'm really surprised. Again probably not great for an audiophile, but I'm likely going to buy another set soon.edit 6/28/22- Still going strong. It’s been about 8 months using these daily, m-f. On average I can go 3 days between charges if i forgot to plug them in. I actually found the pair I lost, that these replaced, and the sound quality on this set is much better, so definitely an upgrade. I also found a set of silicon covers from a 3rd party on Amazon, that mimic in ear silicon earbuds, this has almost entirely solved the falling out of the ear issues, and added just a bit of noise canceling allowing lower volume during the day. Even with the cost of the 3rd party covers still an awesome buy.Haven't reviewed anything in a while, but these surprised me. I'll start with some info that wasn't really available on any of the headphones I was considering during my search... The neck loop, excluding the control and battery box is about 11.25 inches long, and the wire from the earbud to the boxes are about 9 inches. The whole thing is about 34 inches end to end, and with the largest silicon covers only weighs .8 of an ounce. I barely notice them around my neck, unless they're not in use and they swing in my way. The magnets that hold them together when not in use, aren't too shabby either. Better than some of my other sets, including at set from Sony. Audio fidelity isn't phenomenal, it's on the tinny side, not a lot of depth, but I primarily listen to audio books, and lower quality audio sources, so this doesn't bother me. What is amazing about these is they are completely silent when the audio is paused. I've owned about a dozen or so bluetooth headsets, even my "fancy" Plantronics unit, issued by my employer, has a bit of a hiss when there's silence. These are dead quiet, no background sounds while audio is playing either. I was stunned, that right there is worth the $14 for this headset. The battery life so far is excellent, I listen on and off for about 10 hrs a day. Even on a day I listened for what seemed like the entire day, I only ran the battery down to about 50%. I have yet to run it fully down intentionally. I do have a couple gripes, one I knew going in. The shape of the earpieces mimic Apple's earbuds. That style has never stayed in my ears, if I start talking the right one will inevitably fall out. That leads to the second gripe, the cords from the earbuds to the controls, though flexible, are still a bit too stiff. They are also a flat cable, and are oriented so you are bending them against the narrow side, which tends to make my poor ear fitment worse, as the cord helps pull them out. The provided silicon covers work okay, but they are too smooth to get a good grip. Switching them out for the old style foam ones provides a better grip. Because of the similarity to the Apple buds, they don't really cancel any sound. But this too is fine with me, because as much I’d like to get lost in my audiobook, I need to hear the people around me too. Finally, pairing. They will pair with two devices, iphones in my case. It was a bit tricky getting them pair at first, but once you’ve added the headset to each device (pair with one, disconnect, pair to the second, go back to the first, and reconnect) it’s simple. The switching between devices is also very smooth. No long pauses, no loud tones etc. And the volume doesn’t adjust itself through out the day (this was a big problem with last headset). Overall an excellent, low cost bluetooth 5.0 headset, I would definitely buy again. Might even buy a second one, since losing my last headset is what prompted this quest. Thanks for reading :)
